MangaOwl, which distributes content without author permission, is illegal. PiunikaWeb has no affiliation with MangaOwl, or any other alternatives. This report is only about its closure.
MangaOwl is a website that allows you to read Manga. This website allows people to read manga free of charge, but it isn't legal. Authors are not paid for their work.
It was a popular destination because of its extensive collection, which included manga titles that were illegally obtained, and the fact that it is ad-free.
MangaOwl users report that the website is not up or working right now (1,2,3,4,5).
Some people initially believed it was an issue on their part and tried to reset their internet connection, clear browser cache and delete cookies, but this did not help.
Many people are venting their frustrations on social media platforms such as Twitter. These are reports from MangaOwl users who have reported that the website is not working or down.
MangaOwl did not respond to our inquiry at the time we wrote this. The website was likely taken down because it promoted pirated content.

06.05. PM (IST): A reader pointed out that MangaOwl has changed its website from mangaowl.net, to mangaowl.to. This could explain why the website isn't opening.

10 :14 IST: A user shared a screenshot from their conversation with Vyvymanga support. They said that MangaOwl's website would be back up soon. Here is Vyvy's complete statement.

08.57 AM (IST): We mentioned in a previous update that MangaOwl had replaced '.net with '.to. However, as several people pointed out, MangaOwl.to is not associated with MangaOwl websites.

The irony of it all is that they signed a petition to bring back illegal websites. It's unlikely that anything would come of it.
